Was sind CompactFlash Cards?

Der CompactFlash Standard wurde 1994 von SanDisk entwickelt.

Die zugrundeliegende Flash-Technologie ist dieselbe wie bei den

ATA Flash PC Cards. Bei CF Cards werden Daten durch das ATA-

Protokoll über 50 Pins statt über 68 Pins wie bei den PC Cards über-

tragen.

Die Maße der von uns angebotenen CompactFlash Cards Typ I sind

36,4 x 42,8 x 3,3mm. Microdrive Mini-Festplatten und einige hochka-

pazitive Flashkarten haben den Formfaktor CF Card Typ II mit einer

größere Dicke (Bauhöhe 5,0 statt 3,3 mm).

CompactFlash Karten werden in zahlreichen Geräten eingesetzt.In

der Industrie z.B. als Bootmedium oder als Speicherergänzung in

Industrie PCs, Messgeräten, Einplatinenrechnern oder auf sonstigen

Logic-Boards. Im kommerziellen Umfeld findet man CF Cards in

Pocket PCs, PDAs, MP3-Playern, digitalen Diktiergeräten und Digital-

kameras.

Zusammen mit einem PC Card Adapter können CompactFlash Cards

in jedem PC Card Typ II Slot genutzt werden, wie er z.B. in fast jedem

Notebook oder bei fast allen altec Flash Card Drives vorhanden ist.
